Autumn/Winter Favourites

These are just a few of the things that I have been using this autumn/winter that I have been really loving. My Fashion and beauty favourites first followed by the rest.P1020068

This year I’ve been trying out a lot of new things – new styles and trends, getting myself out of the rut I’ve been in. One of the trends I have gone with is a dark lip, it is now my current favourite trend – I am really into this at the moment I just think its fantastic and a boring outfit looks a hundred times better with a dark lip. Two products I have been using are NYX Jumbo lip pencil in 723 Narcisse, the colour is really dark snd sumptuous – the only down side is that it is quite dry so you need a good lip balm with it. The second product is also a NYX lipstick in 575 Black Cherry while not as dark as the pencil it still has that amazing colour and this one is more nourishing on your lips.

The second lot of products are for the mop on top of my head. Two of them are dry shampoo’s and I seriously love this stuff because washing my hair to often just makes it greasier this stuff is a life saver and allows me to wash it every two or three days. The first one (the small pink one) is a Lee Stafford dry shampoo for dark oily roots and it is without a doubt the best one I have ever used, it sprays dark so you don’t get the white/grey looking roots after brushing out if you accidentally used a bit too much and also it doesn’t cover your hands in dark stuff as you massage it in. It’s a bit of a pricier product for dry shampoo and I only wish that I could find bigger cans of it. The second (blue bottle) is a another dry shampoo from Asda it’s just a generic one that comes out white but the scent is amazing I’ve used so many other brands and they either smell like old lady perfume or quite clinical and I don’t want to smell that on my hair all day, this one is just yummy I can’t think of what it smells like its just awesome. The last product for my hair is another Lee Stafford one (I really like Lee Stafford hair stuff) it’s the Big Fat Mousse Spray Root Boost. You spray it onto your roots before blow drying and its amazing the amount of volume it gives is unbelievable and for someone with fine hair I have no idea how I survived before I discovered this bad boy. The best part about this is it’s fun to use it’s freezing cold as you put it right along your roots and it tingles, but as well as that you can hear it tingling – it’s like your hair is talking when you use it I find it hilarious every time, I think I’m just a big kid.

Favourite clothing is my white shirt I think it truly is a wardrobe staple everything goes with it and it can be used to create chic layers in outfits, can be transitioned from day to night and can be accessorised in so many different ways. My current favourite is using ribbon or velvet and tying it in a little bow at the collar. Next up are my slipper socks they are so thick and fleecy on the inside as well as being colourful on the outside and they have spared my tootsies a lot of horrible trips over wooden and tiled floors. Finally one thing I now cannot leave the house without it my tartan scarf it looks pretty keeps me warm and I just simply love it, I feel so cosy when I’m all wrapped up in it.

Onto the rest of my favourites:

Favourite scent is the sparkling Cinnamon Yankee Candle I have it burning constantly and I am already running out – it just makes my room feel so much warmer and cosy and relaxed and smells of spice and christmas.

favourite song is still Ed Sheeran I See Fire from the Desolation of Smaug I think I am a little obsessed with it now. I have done a previous post about it here where I pretty much say everything I have to about it.

My favourite tea is currently Redbush tea which is a rooibos tea and just has the most amazing aroma and taste.

Favourite snack has to be mint hot chocolate I got some mint syrup and I have been going crazy with these things there is no stopping me!

Christmas!!!

I’ve been trying to hold back my excitement for christmas until a more appropriate time, but today it has hit me in full force and I just cant contain myself. It doesn’t help that nearly all of my christmas shopping is done – I know I can’t quite believe how organised I have been about it! Today I’m officially declaring christmas in my house, my mini tree is up, presents wrapped and christmas music is playing even my outfit and nails today are christmassy! Another thing that has also helped to put me in the christmas spirit is that I have changed my hair – I really liked the ombre that I had but it had just killed the ends of my hair and I don’t really want to lose any length so I’ve gone back to my more natural chocolate brown all over soon to be followed by a deep conditioner tomorrow – back on topic now, I tend to get a bit tired of my hair and change it some way round about christmas and every time I do now it just gets me excited!

This is  a picture of the new hair (it’s bad quality and bad lighting I know and I do apologise I just wanted to show you the hair) My outfit is a pleather skater skirt, nude glittery top and a burgundy cardigan with gold buttons – the gold and red tones just make me think of christmas (or gryffindor – but that would most certainly not be my house)Photo on 2013-11-25 at 22.04 #2My presents are sat in a pile waiting for santa to collect them and my tree looks a little sat on my windowsill – P1020058P1020059
